It has been working fine.
Last night while shutting it down, I got an error that I didn't write down :(
But it said something like "to continue shutting down click OK, to debug, click cancel"
I clicked cancel, closed the case and went to bed.
Now this morning, it won't boot up, not even with the OS CD or an OS Floppy or the system restore CD that came with it.
It's not the power supply, the light comes on.
I can here it want to try and boot, I hear 2 clicks from the CD and then nothing.
It's virus free
Win XP Pro
Any idea's??

Does the bios still work? You said you tried booting to a floppy, did you have the boot order setup with the floppy drive before the hard drive? You should check.

I have it set up to look for a CD first, then floppy, CD then HD
I can't check anything, it won't boot up, even to DOS

Why would it boot to DOS? Do you have a dual boot or something? Is DOS on your CD or floppy disk?

No, i did not have it booting to DOS.
My point is I can't check the BIOS, I can't check anything because when I turn it on, the light comes on, it sounds like the CD clicks twice, and then it does nothing.

Well... next time take note (either mental or written) of the error. Since there's power, you're probably right in that it's not a power supply issue. Too bad for you 'cause that just means one of two things... either your LCD or motherboard is dead. I'd like to throw RAM out there, too, but computers still boot up without RAM, they just won't start the OS. Since you got an error, I'm betting it's the motherboard, but, lets hope for the best check out the LCD. First, the obvious: does anything come up on the screen when you try and boot it up? At the very least, does it flicker or brighten/dim or something? If not, try this: If you have a VGA port on the back of your laptop, connect your desktop monitor to it. If you're still not seeing anything, then it's best to assume your motherboard took a dump. If that's the case, all is not lost, just more complicated. (or simple if you just buy a new laptop)
Oh one more thing, try booting without the battery in there. Sometimes they like to screw around.

The LCD broke last month, I have been using a spare monitor I have, nothing.
I think your right, the motherboards gone
