?MAF Sensor Screen?

I read on LS1 Tech in a post that if you descreen the MAF sensor on LS1's and other motors it would increase air flow and help with the HP. I tried and of course couldn't tell much difference at all, but my question is has any one else descreened theres and is there any thing i should be concerned about??

not really anything you should be concerned with. only way to tell if it truly helped was a dyno or to test it by 1/4 mile times, if your time stayed the same and your speed went up it worked to your advantage. thats how you have to measure small adjustments like that.
also if you want to do a mod that you will feel a difference, bypass the throttle body coolant.

i noticed no difference in descreening the maf or doing the bypass. But they make a slight difference on the track with et gains,so good enough for me.
