CD player is acting strange.

I just tried installing a bose cd player my friend had laying around for years in his garage into my car. I have 95 camaro w/delco loc II. His is out of a 94' delco bose. When I put it in the volume has to be turned all the way up in order to hear it decent at all, and the cd player wont even pretend to read the cd or pull it in at all, is there anything I can do?

The reason for not being able to hear the sound well is because you most likly need an amplifier to boost the wattage going to each speaker... meaning that the headunit does not have enough to power each speaker.... as far as the cd player goes, there is not much you can do about it unless you have alot of knowledge of electronics to be able to pull it apart and repair it.... my recommendation is to purchase a new headunit and replace your exsisting headunit with the new one, it seems like the 94 has frozen up, fried, or has just died because of its age and non use /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
