Hey Guys,
So ya know when you know you've found a steal because the guy selling is hard up for money, and lets something go real cheap?...well that's kinda the deal here.

I'm selling my '95 Honda Shadow VLX 600 Custom for $2,500/obo! I took the speedometer off at 19,382 miles, and I doubt I've put 500 miles on it since then. But lets just say 20k just to be safe....doesn't matter for these bike anyways. I've modified pretty much everything I can get my hands on except for the trees, engine internals, and main wiring harness/battery location. I added a cross member for the custom rear fender, but that's the only thing done to the frame. "Performance" Mods are a custom intake, modified cobra pipes wrapped, Jet Kit, and had the carbs rebuilt/tuned by Devil Dawg custom cycles here in Chantilly. These "performance" mods were only done for cosmetic reasons really...except for the carbs...I just wanted it running perfect. I have the absolute BEST battery on it EVER!!! I haven't taken it out so don't ask me what brand it is, but I've NEVER had a trickle charger on it and it has NEVER hesitated to start not even once.

I'll list some of the things that come to mind that are on the bike...but I'm sure I'll forget something, plus I still have a TON of parts for the bike that go with the sale.
14" Apes on stock risers (I also have drag bars on 6" risers that go with the sale too if you like that)
Stainless Braided Lines
Aftermarket Mirrors (forget what brand)
Custom Carb Cover
Relocated Switches to custom carb cover
Throttle Sleeve Cover (needs slight modification to fit throttle sleeve right...so the stock switch cover is on for now)
Custom Intake (HD cow bell sideways as the cover...looks slick imo)
Cobra Pipes with mufflers cut off...tips put on with a simple mod that lowers the tone of the exhaust....pretty loud and not tingy at all...probably the loudest 600/750 cruiser I've ever heard
West Eagle Rear Fender and Seat...modified the way it was to be attached so it's much cleaner...hence why I added the additional cross member to the rear frame
Paint is flat black with gloss black flames....tank and fenders are very simple to take apart and redo the paint job if you wanna
Hardtail suspension...have the stock suspension if you wanna put it on...but it ruins the look.
Custom License Plate Bracket
LED brake light bar attached just under the rear fender..you really don't see it until it's on...one touch I really liked!
Lowered front fender
4" Fork extensions with maltese cross/chain medallion...matches grip end cap and front axle nut covers and rear fender attachement..but the one on the rear fender is black as you can see below
6" peg extensions...very comfortable for me...any shorter than 5' 11" and we'll probably wanna put them back to stock location...very simple to do...just need to modify the brake linkage to make it shorter

I'm sure there's much more that I'm forgetting...but as you can see, the bike is a blast to customize and runs extremely well. I'd prefer not to sell it, but since I don't ride it anymore since I got the TA, and I need money, and I'll have more room in my garage for my TA...yeah, it's just gotta go.

Here's some pics that shows how it looked when I got it, and what it looks like now.

I've also got a windsheild, speedo, turn signals, and a bunch of other stuff that'll go with the sale. Give me shout if you wanna take a look at it...I'm usually available most days anytime.
Thanks for looking.

Looking to do a conversion.... and it's the only one I can use, and sadly, the general has it on backorder, not that I'd pey them 4280 for it! It's rated the best for power and weight, and it's a direct bolt in. The bellhousing is longer, and the fork sits a little different. Any insight, lemme know!

First off Thank You for reading and responding <3

Havn't Posted in a long time. Use to have an 81 firebird with a full chevy switch over, 350 vortec, ect ect. Moved from Philadelphia to Tampa, Florida and sold the car before I left. Been in Florida 6 months now with no car until this weekend when I found my little Jewel. Picked up a 1994 Firebird Formula, Black on Black, Automatic, body is in amazing shape (no cracks no peels and nice paint). Rebuilt LT1 with under 6,000 miles on it (have receipts for over 6,600$ worth of maintenance over the 16 months including optispark, tires, alternator, ignition control module, radiator, and much more all brand new and installed.) The young gentleman I got it from is a newly expecting father and was left with the "car or baby" option on the table and when I waved 2,000$ cash in his face he quickly accepted. Now that you know the car, I have some questions!

I know plenty about the engines, but nothing about the 4L60E. Other than them being "stock junk" that I hear about every now and again hehe. I've driven them, but never raced one so the 3 big questions I pose to you are as follows:

1)How do the trannys react to manual shifting? I know they are electronic controlled.

2)Launching from a dig... keep the selector in D or put it in 1st/2nd?

3)Assuming a stall up around 3,000 and close to or slightly over 400 ft/lb, when at the track is it just put the selector on D, foot brake to 2700, drop the brake and go WOT on the green?

As far as what ive read on various forums I browse everyone seems to agree its easier just to keep the car in D and just floor it whether its the highway or the track (and pretend like manu-shifting doesn't exist)

we also found out that C5's and C6's like to collect pebbles and rocks at the very bottom of their 1/4 panel on the inside which you will see in the pics. I was afraid to buff near it. but did find a way to get them all out safely.
Click the photobucket link for pics/descriptions but otherwise the pic below was our finished product on the ZO6....tomorrow FIREHAWK.

So my buddy hit me up asking if I wanted a free tune....I said...why heck yeah!

So my buddy hit me up asking if I wanted a free tune....I said...why heck yeah!

It's my buddy's father-in-law who has a dyno in his steel shop down on his property south of Fredericksburg. It's a floor dyno that I pulled 297 rwhp and 315 rwtq on when I first got the car. Since then I've done a few things and am anxious to get another run...but I need to get my headers on the car and with finances being so tight...I haven't been able to buy the flowtech y-pipe ($141), percy's gaskets ($35), 02 extensions ($30), or the solid motor mounts ($150) that I'll def need since my engine's sagging quite a bit. So I need $350 just to get the headers on and then I was looking at another $275 w/free dyno time just to get it tuned by frost.

Well my buddy's father-in-law has always tuned his own carb cars...but is wanting to get into tuning fuel injected cars. So he's asking that I bring the TA back down there and let him tune it....free! Yeah I'm a test bed, but what's great is I'll be able to learn a ton with him since I'd like to get into doing it myself as well. I'm not sure what software he'll be running, but i know he's a genius when it comes to cars and I have 100% confidence that he won't let me leave until it's just right. So as soon as I get the $$$ to get these headers on, I'm going to head down there and spend a whole day tuning, learning, and drooling over his '69 483 ci/na and '76? 483 ci/procharged Firebirds. The '69 is running 10's but he gets kicked off tracks and he hasn't tracked the '76 yet...but they're both build to launch hard and with the procharger he should be in the 9's after he does all the safety stuff he needs to run it.

So I'm looking forward to seeing what numbers I pull with all the stuff I've done. I started with just a magnaflow catback and the TOTALLY AWESOME k&n filter...oohhh yeah..haha.

Since then I've done SLP lid...free air mods......ported MAF...ported TB...(will port TB before I go)....smooth bellow....LS6 intake...(by then I'll have the flowtech LT's w/ORY)...and now a LM1 catback instead of the magnaflow. Also did EGR!...small I know, but something.

I'm hoping to see at least 325 rwhp/335 rwtq. Do ya'll have any guesses?

I'll be sure to take pics and vids and do a full write up on it when we're done as well.

For now, here's a vid of my first pull down at his shop.

Well my friend is coming down to visit tomorrow before I leave to come back to VA and we are going to the track. He just baught an SRT4 and wants to run it and I havnt ran my car in the 1/4 yet but I am a little apprehensive about racing it do to the fact that I have to drive it 1500 miles back to VA next week. The car has been runing terrific in this 100 degree heat for the past month, and I just changed the oil so I am tempted to run it a few times. I wouldnt be going all balls out with the burnouts and prolly just leave around 1500 and go a bit easy with the shifts. I know the trans and clutch are good to go, but with my luck with rear ends I figure something will happen and something will brake. I dunno what would you all do? I really want to get a time in the 1/4 just to see what it can run.
