From the title I just knew it was going to be bad. Glad you are O.K. What a shame to loos such a beautiful, well taken car of car. Thank God you hit a guard rail not another car. Take care.

Holy crap that sucks. Sorry to hear about the car man. The important thing is you are ok, the car can be replaced. If insurance totals it maybe you can part it out to help fund the replacement, or some mods for it. Hate to say it but from the looks of it they are going to total loss the car. Anything over half the value of the car. Best of luck with the insurance man.

Looks alot like the accident I had in the 98 TA a few years ago. Started hydroplaning and corrected 3 or 4 times before it went around and hit the guard rail just like you. The Insurance totaled it but gave the option of purchasing the car back which my brother did and fixed it up mostly himself. Maaco paint job and back on the road and still running today. Good luck with your insurance people, hopefully they'll give you a decent settlement.

Yeah it really sucks so bad guys, I feel like i'm losing it without my car. Luckily, I got a great insurance adjuster who I called prior to him going and seeing the car, and told him about all the stuff done to it (rims/wheels/exhaust/intake...blah blah) and told him that I wanted to just go over the car with him. He was a really knowledgable, young guy who knows a lot about these types of cars. He knows that blue book value on these cars is way less than they actually sell for, plus the rarity of them, and that he's not goign to go by blue book. He's gonna go by how much they sell for. He also said that he would take all the parts I have on the car, research how much they cost new, and try to factor them into the amount I will get back for the car as much as he can. He was a very cool guy and was giving me hints on how to get the most for the car (ex. put the stock radio back in..apparently it's worth more to salvage companies than aftermarket).

Not sure what i'm going to get next..but this was my 3rd Firebird...so I think I may be ready for a change of scenery. Plus, I have to consider it's my only car and I commute now, need a car that is decent in inclement weather, and also I'm getting married in a year. So I am looking at a 2008 Acura TL-S right now...not set on it, I've gotta shop around. There are a lot of cars to consider. It's definitely not the last time i'll be in an F-body though. I've loved them since I was a child. Man i'm bummed out...I feel like I lost a part of me. I loved that car to death..

I can imagine your bummin right now man. One thing about these cars is there sentimental value is not replaceable, no matter how much of a pain in the arse they can be at times lol. Are you planning on buying it back to sell off the parts? That could be a decent downpayment on a new ride for you.

Ditto on that, buying it back if its paid for can MAKE you money in return. Not to mention you would know some parts would go to good homes and a part of the car would be saved the rath of the crusher. You can get 1000 a pair just for the t-tops around here.

I think the next car I will be looking into will be a Pontiac G8 GT. That or a Trailblazer SS. I just can't convince myself to buy a normal car. At least your insurance guy is being pretty cool about it. Hope they give you a good value for it.
