Question to nitrous.. to not nitrous

I'v been bouncing the idea around tonight...now im pretty clueless when it comes in nos, i know i'v seen it really screw up some vehicles but dont know if it was due to installer/set up error or if nos is just really that hit and miss? Whats the safest method to spray? I never thought I would concider nos but its a lot of bang for the buck. and i'm still yet to get a dyno tune on my car so if theres a safe method of using nos I will install it before I get the tune...all my other mod's are listed on my signature below. Links would be awesome btw thanks guys!!

I love my nitrous! I would just be carefull with the MSD, I was told too much spark make BOOM! (In the bad way) With ur mods id look into a NOS brand wet kit and spray about 125.

nos is a brand, its like saying i want to put edelbrock on my car. This is the kit I was looking at, have heard alot of good things about it. Its from the nitrous outlet, this link shows good pics tho. Could be where I spend my tax return.

Although NOS is an acronym that stands for Nitrous Oxide System so technically I guess you could say I want to put a NOS on my car. Just like people say SFC's and LCA's etc....

i'v been up all night reading up on nitrous here: http://www.go-fast.org/z28/new_to_nitrous.html .. I cant seem to find all of this stuff in one 'Kit' ..I want to do my nitrous set up with every safety feature possible. I was also doing some reading on spark plugs..looks like people like the NGK r5671a-8 but cant find a definent gap to go with my other current mods... also saw one guy that had his MSD digital 6Plus box in his backseat floor (mines under the hood ontop of the radiator cover)..Im thinking of relocating it because mine does get really hot where it is...Also (lol i know theres a lot of questions in this one post sorry..) the dials on my msd digital6Plus dont seem to have Any function and im not sure why..??.. I have more questions but ill save them for now, I'v askd enough for now haha ..Thanks!!

you want NGK part number 4177 which is a TR6, gapped to .035 (that is if you dont plan to go over a 150 shot). also, you dont need all that safety stuff, just as long as you have a fuel pressure safety switch and a heater safety switch you will be fine. aall you need is a basic wet kit for the LT1 and it will have what you need.

here is the spark plug guide as well as more information for you to read

That link has many useful tips on it, but it is missing some things for the tunning part of a nitrous system. I had a 125hp shot on my '86 z28 with a 305 before I got rid of it, and I was running a very safe and successful 75hp shot on my 4.3 V6 S10 with advanced timing (not suggested, but it worked great). When you install the kit start with a low hp shot without touching the timing while of course running 93 octane. Do a full run and as soon as you let off the throttle (systems shuts down of course) turn off the engine and roll to a stop. Get out and pull the plugs and check them. Of course things will be hot so you might want to wear gloves. The plugs should be a sandy brown/tan color and have no slag or missing pieces on them. If you are running to lean your plugs will be either white like a ghost or purple like they were in my Z28 which was running way...WAY to lean. If your plugs are black then of course that means you are running safe but rich. If your plugs have slag or missing pieces (pits and/or tips look like they are starting to melt) then you are running to much timing. If you have the lean and to much timing symptoms at the same time.......that is HORRIBLE. If needed, adjust fuel or N2O jets to what may be needed. I never touch the N2O jet and only adjust the fuel jet myself. Once you have a good A/F mix and good timing then you can go to the bigger hp shot of that kit. The link also says that rule of thumb is -2 degrees of timing for every 50hp shot, I would also do an additional -2 degrees for safety at any shot until you get it tuned correctly.

I'm not a nitrous guy...but everytime I say NOS a bunch of guys just laugh at me....like I'm outta the movie Fast and Furious....screw them! haha....yeah...I don't know anything about nitrous setups....but just try to make it a clean install as too many times I see lines running all over the place and cluttering up the engine bay. Good luck man!
